PROGRAMS AND OPPORTUNITIES TO SERVE
We partner with local schools and programs to assist in educating children in our community.
Crossroads City Center partners with Sherman Elementary providing mentoring and tutoring opportunities for the students. Having these one - on - one interactions with students, building relationships and assisting them in their reading and writing skills is not only a benefit to the students, but their parents and teachers as well.
SUMMER READING PROGRAM
This program for K-3 students is designed to provide one - on - one tutoring, a fun atmosphere and dinner Tuesday - Friday for two weeks. We will expand on the Great Adventure theme that “Reading is a great adventure that can take you many places.” The goal is to prepare young students for state testing that occurs in the third grade with tutoring they may not otherwise have access to. There will be fun too! Little Buckeye Children’s Museum will host a group activity, there will be a weekly Adventure - themed Bible lesson, as well aw a community-wide festival held on the last day of the program!
Crossroads City Center is a place for the community. Not only will we host our own programs and events, we are a great space to host other agencies and organizations events. We have been immensely blessed with our building and want to share our space so it can be used to its full potential for God’s glory.
We believe that meeting physical needs helps open doors to Gospel conversations.
COFFEE & LAUNDRY DAYS
Tuesday and Thursday 9-11AM
Every Tuesday and Thursday we offer free laundry services for our community. We will wash and dry one load of laundry per guest each time they visit. A free hygiene bag, coffee, snacks, and fellowship are offered during this time as well. We firmly believe that helping to provide for this physical need opens the door to building trust and relationships within the community which gives us a way to hare our ultimate need for Jesus.
BLANKET & CLOTHING DISTRIBUTION
We frequently host a blanket or clothing distribution for the community throughout the year. We believe helping to meet some of these physical needs will help open the door to build relationships and ultimately share our hope in Jesus.
We host free health fairs at the City Center. We will partner with local medical agencies to provide free medical services to the community. Some of these services will include checking cholesterol, blood screening and checking blood pressure.
We desire to walk alongside those who are hurting, providing counseling and mentoring programs.
Every Tuesday 2-8PM
Trained professionals from Encompass Counseling will offer one on one counseling services at the City Center for our community.
FOSTER PARENT MINISTRY
We are partnering with local agencies to train and support foster and kinship families. In Richland County alone, there are nearly 800 kids in open cases per month, 240 kids in kinship care, and 96 kids in foster care.
There are so many young lives who desperately need supportive and loving homes. One of our goals at the City Center is to help train and prepare families to raise foster children as well as support those who are already fostering children.
Mentoring Youth in the City is a community group that partners with Mid-Ohio Youth Mentoring (formerly Big Brothers and Big Sisters) to provide Godly mentors to young men ages 5-15 in our communities. There is a great need for people of faith to step up and assume the role of mentor to our youth who are severely lacking appropriate role models.
This is an opportunity to have a direct, gospel impact on a young life. If you feel let to be a mentor, please contact Josh Blakley: email@example.com
Every other Tuesday 6-8pm
Inspire Hope is a support group for women who have experience abuse. This group provides a safe place to share experiences, find hope through prayer and God’s Word, and to ultimately bring healing.
TRIPLE P PARENTING CLASSES
Parenting classes provided by Nationwide Children’s Hospital cover discussion topics such as disobedience, potty training, and healthy discipline.
